Athlone Castle Visitor Centre is delighted to host its 6th annual Medieval Fair in association with the Society for Creative Anachronism, and supported by the Heritage Council, on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th June. Awaited by many and a must visit by any living history and Medieval enthusiast, the fair will feature arts, crafts, food, games, educational demonstrations, a puppet show, jousting and market stalls.
Medieval Fair Visitors will get an opportunity to step back in time and experience live demonstrations of fencing and Medieval weapons, taste samples of Medieval food treats challenge themselves with some Medieval games as well as learning about the dress and customs of our Medieval ancestors.
There will be a selection of market stalls for visitors to explore and see fine examples of hand crafted products, ceramics, jewellery and clothes while also trying some tasty treats from Athlone and the surrounding area.
