All merchandise may be subject to duty or other taxes on importation into your own country (if outside the Republic of Ireland) of residence. Athlone Castle Visitor Centre Gift Shop is not responsible for any importation charges or government fees that may be applied.
A clearance fee may also be levied by your local post office on each such dutiable parcel. Some Post Offices show this as “Additional Postage” or “Postage Due”.
All deliveries are sent via An Post mail and customers. Customers choosing to receive their goods via registered post, will be issued a tracking number via email once their parcel is dispatched. This number can be used to track the progress of your delivery, using this link.

Due to recent changes in the UK and EU’s trade agreements, delivery to the UK is temporarily not possible. We apologise for the inconvenience and are working hard to make the service possible again.

What is the shipping cost?

Shipping cost depends on the weight of your order. The actual shipping cost will be calculated during the ordering process.

Please note that parcels being sent to destinations outside of the EU may be subject to customs duties or other taxes, charges or fees on importation into the recipient’s country of residence. The Gallery Shop is not responsible for any such additional taxes, charges or fees that may apply.

Do you want to return a product? No problem, there is a return option of 14 days for all online orders. If you have received a damaged product, please first contact our team to request a return via e-mail: [email protected] If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
As soon as we have received the return goods in unused, complete and in its original packaging and in a re-saleable condition, we will refund the purchase amount owed and the shipping costs within 14 days with the same payment method with which the order was paid.  If you want to keep certain items and only cancel part of the order, the shipping costs will not be refunded. The shipping costs for the return shipment are not reimbursed.

Goods which are returned for a refund must be returned with the receipt. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Where any valid claim in respect of any goods sold by Athlone Castle Visitor Centre which is based on any defect in the quality or condition of the goods or their failure to meet specification is notified to Athlone Castle Visitor Centre, Athlone Castle Visitor Centre shall be entitled to replace the goods (or the part in question) free of charge or, at the sole discretion of Athlone Castle Visitor Centre, refund the price of the goods (or a proportionate part of the price), but Athlone Castle Visitor Centre shall have no further liability to the purchaser.


The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, unused, complete and in a re-saleable condition, with your receipt within 14 days and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.


We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
